Waste, Recycling, and What happens to your waste

Clara Legallais-Moha, Waste and Recycling Officer for South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse, gave as a talk on ‘Waste, Recycling and What happens to your waste.’ The slides from her presentation can be viewed and downloaded below.

Regular tours are also run at Ardley energy recovery facility and Benson food waste facility – dates can be found on this page. Anyone who would like to attend needs to email the waste team at   

compost giveaway is being run in March, details are as below:

  • Saturday 16 March 2024 in Abingdon, 9am to 11am. Address: White Horse Leisure and Tennis Centre, Audlett Drive, OX14 3PJ.
  • Sunday 17 March 2024 in Crowmarsh, 9am to 11am. Address: Land of the former council office, Benson Lane, OX10 8ED.

The giveaway is run on a first-come first-served basis and open to South and Vale residents only. Please bring your own compost bags and a spade. You can fill up to 3 bags per household.
