Ancient wildflower meadow tour Weds 6th July @ Long Mead
Jul 6 @ 13:30 – 15:00

Do you want to see an ancient wildflower meadow on Weds 6th July?

This is a fantastic opportunity to see an ancient floodplain wildflower meadow near Eynsham, part of the Thames Valley Wildflower Restoration Project.

Long Mead is mentioned in the Domesday book and is over 1000 years old! The ecosystem services it provides include; carbon capture, improving water quality, food production, flood mitigation and increasing biodiversity.

Meet Catriona and Kevin, owners of Long Mead at 1.30pm on Wednesday 6th of July for a 1.5 hour tour of the meadow and hear how by working from the bottom up, they have engaged with landowners to connect up these now rare pockets of meadow.

Parking is either in the pub car park opposite or in Eynsham Playing Fields Car Park (7 minutes walk) – see the map below for locations.

No need to book, do ask questions and I hope you come away with lots of ideas where wildflowers could work in your area!
