Kate Rawles, author of “The Lifecycle – 8,000 miles in the Andes by Bamboo Bike” is coming to Abingdon on Weds 18th February and will give a talk at 7.30pm in the Baptist Church, 35 Ock Street. Incredibly, she built her own bike using bamboo grown in the Eden Project in Cornwall, then cycled the length of South America on it. Even more exciting, she visited dozens of eco-projects along the way, finding out how brave local planetary defenders are mobilising to prevent damage to their environment, damage which also threatens us all. It promises to be an interesting evening!
