Abingdon Cuts Plastic had a stall at the Local Excellence Summer Crafts Market last Saturday. 
People were asked to “Take the Plastics Challenge” – sorting a bin-bag of plastic rubbish into the recycling bin or grey bin. Not as easy as it sounds, but the young people were good at it! Tips included
- if it crinkles (e.g. crisp packets) it CANNOT be recycled
- if it’s stretchy it can
- if in doubt, leave it out! (Too much non-recyclable plastic can ruin a whole batch)
David Perrow had a table with ways to avoid plastic while gardening – and was giving out a Plastic-Free Gardening guide.
Georgina Walker was giving out copies of her fascinating trail map. Copies available on request!
