COME TO THE LAUNCH OF THE CAMPAIGN TO REDUCE PLASTIC POLLUTION AND MOVE TOWARDS BECOMING A PLASTIC-FREE TOWN

Concern over global plastic waste has been big news for a while, and can seem overwhelming. What can we do as individuals? What can we do as a town? The new plastics sub-group of Abingdon Carbon Cutters is launching the “ABINGDON CUTS PLASTIC” campaign to get us all started on the path towards a plastics free town.

We’ll have lots of information on local initiatives and what you can do to join in, including:

The national ReFill scheme coming to Abingdon #ReFillAbingdon, where you can fill your water bottle for free in cafes and shops; DOWNLOAD a poster here: REFILL POSTER
Sesi Detergent Refill + Wholefoods in Oxford, bring your own containers (clean jam jars, small bottles etc) to fill with a sample of their ethical eco-friendly detergents and shampoo;
Jarfull, top tips on how to cut your everyday plastic use;
District Waste and Recycling, find out more about where your plastic waste goes;
Green Gym, local litter-picking activities;
Willow Village, tips on how to be a low plastic parent
The Nursery Shop, will be showing off their range of recycled plastic toys

Plus lots more about what Abingdon businesses are doing and tips on how you can cut your own plastic footprint!
