Abingdon’s air quality has been a cause for concern since an assessment in 2005 which showed air pollution in parts of the town centre had exceeded national air quality objectives due to the levels of nitrogen dioxide from vehicle emissions.

Rachel Roberts, Air Quality officer for the Vale District Council, and herself an active member of Abingdon Carbon Cutters, will tell us about her work.

What are the hotspots for air pollution in Abingdon? How is our air quality monitored? What can we all do to improve it?

We may hear from a group of student consultants from Oxford University who have been looking into how school students get to school, and finding what would encourage more parents to leave their cars behind.

Come and join the debate! Download a poster here: Local Air Quality 21.6.17

As usual there will be coffee (or tea), cake and excellent conversation.
