Bicycle-powered smoothies at the Spring Cycle Festival

Carbon Cutters demonstrated how to prevent food waste and save electricity on Sunday 13th April when they turned surplus fruit from the Oxford Food Bank into delicious smoothies, using only muscle-power!

The smoothie-making bike was on loan from CAG-Oxfordshire for the day, and dozens of cyclists took time out from their cycle-rides to sample the results.

The Mayor of Abingdon, Samantha Bowring, was on hand to provide the power, as was Ai-Linh Tran of Abingdon Freewheeling Cycle Club.

Ai-Linh , one of the Cycle Fest organisers, lends a hand, or rather some leg-power.
