Forest School Outdoor Learning Project

Abingdon Carbon Cutters are supporting Caldecott School and the South Abingdon Children’s Centre as they work to create a Forest School in the school grounds. This exciting scheme will involve the planting of many trees and the re-landscaping of an area of school grounds which currently cannot be put to good use. Fruit trees, nut trees, and native trees will be the mainstay of the planting alongside a wildflower meadow and vegetable growing beds. Sustainability and food sources are key elements of the design which will provide a stimulating learning environment for the children of the centre and school. One of our members is acting as the project manager for the works and we shall be looking for volunteers to help plant trees, etc. once the essential groundwork has been completed.
